Ecclesiastes 4:2
KJV 2 Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive.

The Voice

Ecclesiastes 4:2
2 It struck me that the dead are actually better off than the living who must go on living;

These are my thoughts.
We need to have respect for those lost who came before us to pave our way.

Ecclesiastes 4:3

KJV(i) 3 Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

Ecclesiastes 4:3The Voice (VOICE)

3 and, even better, are those who were never born in the first place. At least they have never had to witness all of the injustices that take place under the sun.

These are my thoughts.
It is better not to know sin but we all will know sin, our only hope is Christ.

Ecclesiastes 4:4

KJV(i) 4 Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.

Ecclesiastes 4:4The Voice (VOICE)

The imbalance of power creates many victims. Worldly power, sourced in corrupt systems “under the sun,” is on the side of the oppressor. Few are in the ditches with the broken and poor.

Teacher: 4 Then I saw yet another thing: envy fuels achievement. All the work and skills people develop come from their desire to be better than their neighbors. Even this is fleeting, like trying to embrace the wind.

These are my thoughts.
Often times us looking away at others causes us to want what they have, we always need to look to Jesus instead of others.
